Glass Roof Rooflights offering fire protection to withstand fire for 30 or 60 minutes
Increasing regulations and demands are calling for buildings to not only have the right level of thermal and sound insulation, but also the correct fire protection. For this reason, LAMILUX have developed a fire-rated variant of the LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60 60mm wide mullion and transom system, designed specifically for mono-pitch roof glazing applications.
REI certified rooflights are tested to EN 13501-2 and consider not only the fire resistance, but also the load-bearing capacity (R), room enclosing function (E) and insulation (I). With trademark features including an attractive design, coupled with the highest level of airtightness and excellent heat-insulation values, the LAMILUX fire rated glass roof range boasts exceptional watertight properties, effective soundproofing and fire resistance.
Fire resistance means that in the event of a fire in the building, the component creates a physical barrier that prevents both fire and smoke from escaping for a period of time. The REI 30 is designed to withstand fire and heat for at least 30 minutes whilst the REI 60 offers protection for a full 60 minutes. The LAMILUX Glass Roof Fire Rated range of rooflights are life saving solutions that prevent flames from spreading and ensure protection against fire and heat, whilst keeping escape routes clear.
Fire Rated Glass Roof REI 30
The Fire Rated Glass Roof REI 30 offers protection for 30 minutes with its certified fire resistance class REI 30 according to EN 13501-2. Available as a fixed rooflight (i.e. non opening) with double (Ug 1.0-1.1W/(m²K), triple (Ug 0.8W/(m²K) or solar control glazing, the fire resistant glazing withstands fire and heat, whilst preventing flames from spreading, for a minimum duration of 30 minutes. The REI 30 variant features a stable aluminium structure and is suitable for pitches ranging from 2° - 80° and dimensions of 4m x your chosen length.
Fire Rated Glass Roof REI 60
The Fire Rated Glass Roof REI 60 offers protection for 60 minutes with its certified fire resistance class REI 60 according to EN 13501-2. Available with standard double glazing, or optional solar control glazing, the fire-resistant glazing withstands fire and heat, whilst preventing flames from spreading, for a minimum duration of 60 minutes and has a Ug value of 1.0-1.1W/(m²k). The REI 60 option features a stable steel structure and can be professionally installed either as a stand alone option or as a wall abutted rooflight. Available as a fixed (i.e. non opening) rooflight the system can be designed to your requirements, with a maximum construction size of 2500mm x 6300mm.
Fire Rated Glass Skylight REI 30 / REI 60 and REI 90
For projects where smaller modular rooflights are required, we recommend the new Fire Rated Glass Skylight alternative. Certified according to EN 13501-2, this product can be installed on roofs with an inclination of up to 15° and is delivered to site pre-assembled on a steel upstand.
The Fire Rated Glass Skylight REI 30 and REI 60 is available in sizes up to 2500mm x 2000mm. Furthermore, LAMILUX have succeeded in extending our previous protection of 30 and 60 minutes even further for paramount fire resistance, with the new Fire Rated Glass Skylight REI 90. Offering maximum protection from this range and withstanding fire and heat for an impressive 90 minutes, this option is available in sizes up to 2000mm x 1500mm.
